Over the past few weeks the students have been exploring the world of music, focusing on different cultures and time periods. Through listening and analysis the students have explored how music plays a diverse and important role in various societies. We have explored how different combinations of musical elements, like rhythm, texture, and dynamics, can communicate specific meanings and moods. By delving into these concepts, our students have gained a deeper appreciation for the power of music and its ability to convey emotions and stories. We have also recently received a new 3 octive alto xylophone in the classroom. The students have enjoyed learning and playing new and familiar songs on this instrument.
