Interschool Cross Country

On Friday 12 May selected students represented the school at the Interschool Cross Country at Quinns Rocks Primary School. The team was picked using the placings from the school’s Faction Cross Country Carnival. The students who competed on the day, performed brilliantly and gave 100% effort.

A special mention to Jaxon R from Year 5 who finished 2nd overall with an amazing performance. Logan T from Year 3 was a last-minute call up and performed admirably, competing in the Year 4 race and finishing 22nd out of the 35 competitors. A special moment for all who were there to witness. All five Year 3 girls finished in the top 15. Watch out in the years to come!

Joondalup Primary School finished 5th out of 7 schools. Next year we are aiming to climb the rankings. Throughout the day, the behaviour of the students was something to admire and showed how respectful and responsible Joondalup Primary School students are.

Thank you to all students who competed. I was extremely proud of your efforts.

A special thanks to Sue Egan who does amazing work with running club on Wednesdays and Fridays and did extra training sessions leading into cross country.

Winter Lightning Carnival

In Senior Sport, the students have been vying for positions in their chosen sports for the Winter Lightning Carnival. The sports this year will be AFL, soccer, netball and touch rugby. We will be competing against Currambine Primary School. Teams will be announced shortly with the students who have been selected.

This year the event will be held at HBF Arena on Friday 23 June.

Upcoming Physical Education lessons

Starting Week 7 of this term, Years 3 to 6 students will have a specialised touch rugby coach come to the school. I have been able to organise this through the sporting schools grant and I hope that all students will enjoy the experience.
