National Science Week at Joondalup Schools
Throughout National Science Week, students from K-6 stepped away from reality and used their imaginations to make a magical journey through the Looking Glass with Alice.
Once entering through the ‘glass’, students engaged in a variety of activities which explored glass and its properties and uses. Activities included shards of glass, a Queen of Hearts glass castle, a Mad Hatter tea party, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum reflections, Wonderland refractions, a teacup stacking challenge, flamingo glass egg croquet and rainbow stained glass windows.
To add to the excitement that National Science Week brings, students engaged in a ‘get decorative’ competition, bought stained glass treats from the canteen and finished the week with an Underland character hunt around the school…where they were rewarded with a ‘heart of glass’.
Until next year.....
