Interschool Carnival
Joondalup Schools improve in sport. The Joondalup Schools recently competed in the Interschool athletics carnival with great success. The students combined to compete against Currambine Primary School, Springfield Primary School and Edgewater Primary School.
The 1st of April saw the students compete in the long jump and long throws. Joondalup had a positive day, finishing joint second in the long jump and winning the long throws. This put Joondalup in second place overall, an improvement over 2018’s results where Joondalup sat in third place after the long jumps and long throws.
This is a testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of the students towards progressing their athletic abilities during sport, inside and outside of school time. Additionally, it exhibits the level of dedication the parents of the school have, giving their own time to coach or support their children in their physical development.
April 4th was the day of the Interschool sprints and team games. The students were encouraged to have fun, try their best and support each other throughout the day. This aided Joondalup to finish second overall.
Congratulations to all the students at the Joondalup Schools who participated and made the day a great success. Your behavior was a positive reflection on our schools. Thank you to the students who did not make the team and provided excellent support by pushing the limits of the competing students in training and selection.
Thank you to all the parents who stayed and supported the students in their events. The students found it very encouraging to see familiar faces supporting them, while they represented the school. Thank you to the teachers who brought students over to support the competitors on the day. Thank you to Miss Mercer, Mrs Young, Miss Goodridge, the Administration Staff Faction Captains and student and parent volunteers. Through your support, the day was well organised and a positive experience for Joondalup.
Thank you to Bec and Mrs Egan. Your support through running club and organising behind the scenes was a massive help and greatly appreciated by the parents, staff and the students.
“Up, up, Joondalup”
