Dinosaurs

The students in Rooms 30 and 31 listened to the story "If the Dinosaurs Came Back" by Bernard Most. After viewing the illustrations, the students created a drawing showing what they would like to happen if the dinosaurs came back. The drawing was done in black felt pen and the dinosaur collaged on using colourful textured paper creating contrast.

Fish

These great wall hangings were created by the students in Rooms 18, 19 and 20. They rolled out a slab of clay, traced around a template of a fish and then used found objects to create texture. Once these were fired the students used a watery underglaze to bring out the texture and sealed this on with a clear glaze. The students drilled holes in the pieces of wood for hanging, made a string rope and wound this around a piece of wire and then threaded it through the holes. Finally, the fish was glued on with liquid nails.

Jellyfish

The students in Rooms 6 and 7 worked with clay to create jellyfish. They made a pinch pot and shaped it into a jellyfish. Some added holes for threading on tentacles and the others added the tentacles with pieces of clay. These were the coloured with underglaze and sealed with clear glaze.

Sand Dollars

These sand dollars were sculptured out of clay by the students in Rooms 4 and 8. They created two pinch pots, joined them together and shaped the sphere into a sand dollar. Radial symmetrical patterns were added with a variety of tools. Once they were fired the students glazed them.

Harmony Bowl

The students in Rooms 18, 19 and 20 created this bowl during Harmony Week. The many hands joined together representing harmony.
