Harmony Week 2019
Harmony Day is a day when we celebrate the many different cultural groups in Australia and recognise the benefits that all of these people bring to our Australian society. It is about community participation, inclusiveness, celebrating diversity, respect and belonging. What a beautiful assembly we had on Friday 15th March to acknowledge Harmony Day. The song, I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing, was a perfect fit and it was so lovely to hear the whole school singing, it was a proud moment for me. The Ride to School Day was a fitting end to a sensational morning. There were lots of smiles from everyone as they were riding around, including me. A big thank you to Jen for organising the campus to be promoted in the Joondalup Times for our ride to school day. Click on the link below to see the article.

Faction Carnival
Our Faction Carnival was a huge success thanks to the amazing Staff, very helpful and organised Faction Captains, volunteers, enthusiastic students and supportive families. Each student participated in team games and running activities. It was great to see everyone working hard to prepare for the day with the early morning set up, the pack up at the end of the day and also the support they gave to all students. A big thank you to the families and friends who came to support their child, their faction and the school. Congratulations again to the Red faction for being the victors and to everyone that participated with a positive attitude and a smile.
Interschool Carnival
Next week is Interschool Carnival Week. On Monday there will be jumps and throws starting at 9.30am at Springfield PS. On Thursday 4th April, there will be relays, team games and running races held at Windermere Oval, starting at 9.30am. Come along and cheer for your child throughout the week.

Congratulations Miss Wilton
Congratulations to Miss Wilton on becoming Mrs Spicer over the weekend. On all accounts it was a fantastic day and doesn’t she look absolutely gorgeous!
Kiss and Drive
I would encourage parents to use the Kiss and Drive to drop off and pick up and not park there to wait for your child. A number of parents are dropping off children in the staff carpark. This is a very dangerous practise because at the beginning or end of the day there are cars, buses, trucks and work vehicles driving through the carpark. Please do the right thing and keep your child safe.
Science Room Refurbishments
Over the next few weeks the Science Room will have some additional works completed.
- Block out blinds on all windows and doors will be installed to allow the Physics units of light to studied more effectively.
- Additional cabinetry will be installed so there is more storage within the lab.
The ANZAC ceremony will be held on Friday 12th April. This year we are holding the ceremony at 2pm. Please come along and participate in our ANZAC ceremony.
Joondalup Kid Award
Congratulations to Jude from Room 10 on receiving my Joondalup Kid Award at the assembly today. Below in the citation on his award.
Jude represents all the qualities of an amazing Joondalup Kid. He regularly takes on extra responsibilities and is respectful of all those around him. Jude is quietly confident in everything he does and always strives to be the best version of himself. We are so lucky to have someone like Jude at Joondalup Primary School.
