Maths Games in Year 5
Over the last couple of weeks, in Room 12 and 13, we have been designing maths games. We had to make our games based on all the maths we learned in the past two terms, although there were some requirements that we had to meet. We had to include an answer key, instructions and materials, e.g. a die, counters, money, protractor and cards.
As soon as our games were completed people started to play them. Each person that played our game had to write us a review. Some people left great reviews, some people left medium reviews and some people left had not such good reviews. They had to review us on the appearance of the game, if the instructions were easy to follow, if it was easy to play, if it was interesting to play, and if all the materials were available.
In the end, it all worked out very well, people tweaked their games and got along nicely. It was one of the best maths sessions that we have ever had. That’s what has been happening in maths in Room 12 and 13.
