Self Portraits
Students across the campus used mirrors to observe their face. Drawing in pencil they created a self portrait and then added colour with watercolour paints. These portraits were created by students in years 1,2 and 6.
Pattern
Pattern is one of the principles of design. Students in years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 created a pattern on an A4 piece of paper using wax crayon. Next semester we will add a dye wash and then use the work to create a whole school collaborative artwork.
NAIDOC Celebrations
The artwork of John Smith Gumbula was viewed. He has a strong connection to culture and his people, drawing strength from those before him. Gumbula's work has lots of pattern.
The students in years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 drew an Australian animal and then filled the different shapes with patterns using felt pen.
Shape People
The students in Room 31 worked with the elements of shape and texture while creating these little people out of clay and wire.
