Outdoor classroom day
On the 7th November our campus participated in Outdoor Classroom Day. This is a global campaign designed to inspire and celebrate outdoor learning and play. Outdoor learning has been recognised to improve health, engagement with learning activities, develop critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity whilst having lots of fun. The students at Joondalup Schools from Kindy to Year 6 engaged in a range of outdoor learning activities with their own classes and with buddy classes.
Everyone participated in a scavenger hunt across the outdoor learning environment of our school. The students completed four outdoor tasks to reveal hidden letters that spelt out the answer to a mystery riddle related to the environment.
The students completed experiences such as team games, mindfulness activities, mathematic activities using natural materials and even flying paper planes outside. The Kindergarten students across both campuses also participated in their own outdoor learning experiences combined with the Play and Learn students from Joondalup Primary School. All the students and teachers had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful outdoor learning environments we have at Joondalup. Have a look at some of the photos that capture the enthusiasm and enjoyment shared by all involved.
