Indonesian dance and music performance at the 2019 Arts Night

Selected students from Rooms 8, 10, 11  and 12  performed an Indonesian umbrella dance and angklung music for the Joondalup Schools Art Night. The students who played the angklung (Indonesian bamboo musical instruments) wore traditional costumes from Java and Sumatera Island.

The dance and angklung performance took place in the garden in front of the Art Room. Many parents and students enjoyed watching the show.

We would like to thank Ms Mel Hunt who helped Ibu Mulyana with the make-up for the girl dancers.

Thanks to the parents and guardians who watched our performance.

The performance was a warm-up for the angklung players as they will play angklung Christmas carols at Myer Department Store, Joondalup on the 6th of December. Everyone is invited to watch the performance.

Well done students.

Indonesian work samples at Joondalup Public Library

During the Term 3 school holidays, selected Indonesian work samples from the Joondalup Primary School students were displayed at the Joondalup Public Library. The display was part of the Languages week celebration.

We would like to thank Joondalup Public Library staff who gave us permission to display the work samples in the library.  A special thanks to Librarian Suzanna Cooke who prepared the boards for the display. Well done to the students who put in a lot of effort to finish the work.
