Book Week

Congratulations to everyone who participated in Book Week and to everyone who dressed up on Friday. The students enjoyed all of the activities that were scheduled in throughout the week.

Joondalup Schools Art Night

It is that time of the year again when Joondalup Schools celebrate the Arts with our annual Arts Night. Arts Night is a very exciting time of the year when Visual Arts, Music and other Specialist Departments of Joondalup Schools are showcased. Come and join the fun and let Joondalup Schools entertain you!  A note will go home with students on Monday 2nd September with more information.

When- Tuesday 29 October

Theme- Pop Music

Time- School Open 4.45pm, student performances to start at 6.15pm

  

2020 Kindy and Pre Primary Enrolments

Joondalup Primary School is well known for its exciting and dynamic Kindergarten and Pre-primary programs. Kindergarten applications for 2020 should be sent in as soon as possible so that your child does not miss out. If your child turns 5 before 30 June 2020, they are required to attend Pre-primary next year. Please note, all 2019 Kindergarten students must re-enrol for 2020 Pre-primary.

School Board Vacancy

The School Board is seeking a parent representative to fill a vacancy on the School Board. If you are interested in being part of our School Board please contact Ashley Gunning, the Chairperson via email,  ashley.gunning@education.wa.edu.au or Tammy Hanrahan on 9233 5800.

The Board’s role is to take part in establishing and, from time to time:

  • Reviewing school objectives, priorities and general policy directions and the financial arrangements to fund these;
  • Evaluating school performance in achieving the set objectives and priorities;
  • Endorsing codes of conduct for students at the school.
  • It determines the School’s long-term plans and oversees the School’s performance.
  • Charges, responsibility for and contributions towards the provision of certain materials, services and facilities;

However, it’s important to note that the School Board does NOT take part in any day-to-day management of the School or its staff. For example, it cannot:

  • Intervene in the control or management of a School;
  • Intervene in the educational instruction of students;
  • Exercise authority over teaching staff or other persons employed at the School; or
  • Intervene in the management or operation of a school fund.

The Board meets twice at term on Wednesdays from 6.00-7.00pm. Our next Board Meeting is on Wednesday 18th September.
