School Vision
Our staff and the School Board have recently reviewed and revised our school vision to include our code of conduct. Our vison now reads; Joondalup Primary School strives to provide opportunities through authentic, diverse and enjoyable learning experiences to enable our students to become respectful, responsible and safe life -long learners who are resilient, and contribute positively to a rapidly changing world.
Science Week
We have had a blast this week celebrating Science week. Activities were happening all around the school throughout the week as we ventured into space. We even had a “meteor” land at school which had students intrigued. It’s been awesome listening to the space facts every morning during our welcome to the day message. This one was my favourite space fact, THERE MAY BE A PLANET MADE OUT OF DIAMONDS! As space facts go, this will shine bright! Research by Yale University Scientists suggests that a rocky planet called 55 Cancri e may have a surface made up of graphite and diamond. If YOU were the first astronaut to step foot onto this planet, what would you do with all of the diamonds?
Book Week
Next week Joondalup Schools will be celebrating Book Week. There will be activities available during recess and lunch times and students will be engaging with themes in their classroom throughout the week. We will end the week with our senior students hosting the campus assembly, and all students will be able to dress as their favourite book character next Friday. Be sure to mark it your diary for next Friday.
Leadership Day – Belridge Secondary College
On Tuesday, four Year 5 students were invited to Belridge and join other Year 5’s from other schools. The day consisted of leadership activities and learning how to be a leader. Twelve schools were involved in this day, and students had a wonderful time meeting each other and learning from each other.

Interschool Cross Country Results
On Wednesday the 7th August, a squad of 48 students travelled to MacDonald Park in Padbury to compete against other cross country athletes from three other schools. The Joondalup Schools students performed very well, showing determination, endurance and resilience when faced with what is widely acknowledged as the most difficult of the interschool events.
Overall results
1st Currambine Primary School
2nd Joondalup Schools
3rd Edgewater Primary School
4th Springfield Primary School
Well done to all of our representatives, you made us proud. A big shout out to Mrs Egan and Mr Lee for training our students before school and keeping our students motivated to achieve their personal best.
Staff Carpark
A reminder to parents that the staff car parks are not a “drive through”. The shape and direction of the traffic flow places far too much danger on any student that may be dropped off in the car park. With a continual flow of trades people, buses and staff cars, the risk is far too great for students to be dropped off or picked up in this area. These guidelines are to keep your child safe, please drop your child at the Kiss N Drive on Candlewood Drive.
Earn and Learn
Thank you to all community members who contributed to the Earn & Learn Program. The stickers collected will go towards purchasing Maths resources for the campus.
