Art with Mrs Thornton
Term 2 is set to be another busy, messy and fun term in the art room.
I am thrilled to share the exciting art lessons and projects in the art room. Our students in Years 5 and 6 have begun their creative journey by designing and creating artwork for the City of Joondalup’s Art competition. The winning piece will be showcased on the digital tower at Yagan Square, with other entries displayed at the City of Joondalup libraries. It is a fantastic opportunity for our young artists! It is going to be very challenging to choose only six entries.
In Years 3 and 4, the students investigated the world of value, exploring terms like hue, base colour, tint and shade. Meanwhile, our Year 1 students are busy learning about the colour wheel and the basics of colour theory. They have already created a mouse colour wheel using Primary Colours and discovered the magic of mixing colours to create Secondary Colours.
We have a lot of creativity and imagination to share this term, and I can't wait for you to see the amazing artwork our students will produce. Stay tuned for more updates on their artistic journey.
