Colour Run
Last Thursday we participated in the annual P&C Association Colour Run, an important fundraiser for the school. It was fantastic! In addition to bursts of coloured powder we ran through foam sprayed from a cannon and watched staff members get drenched under buckets of water. The delight of those children who threw the ball at the target to release the bucket was evident across their faces.
I would like to thank the P&C for their amazing work and the many volunteer hours that make this event a highlight for the school community.
Thank you to all of the families who collected donations which make a difference for the school.
Important notice
We are having a server upgrade on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 November. We will have no internet during this process which impacts our computers and telephone system. As a result our phone lines, emails, and anything connected via internet will not work during these two days. The office will have an emergency mobile on hand but please be patient as we will have limited phone access.
Swimming lessons
Well done to everyone in Years 3-5 who have now finished their swimming lessons. The children were thrilled to come back with certificates showing the progress that they had made. The Year 6 students are starting beach swimming lessons for two weeks on Monday 20 November.
School Development Day
Last Friday the staff tackled the difficult topic of the impact that trauma has on children’s learning and wellbeing. The presentation by the Department’s School of Special Education Needs: Behaviour and Engagement team provided us with information about how trauma can be seen in student learning and behaviour in the classroom and playground.
We have further professional learning early 2024 where we will learn more about the strategies that we can implement in classrooms and the playground to better support children.
Halloween Dress Up
Some of the children entered into the spirit of Halloween and came to school dressed up in weird and whacky costumes.
P&C Meeting
The final P&C Meeting for 2023 will be held on Wednesday 22 November 2023 at 7:00 pm in the staffroom.
Student Leaders for 2024
The Year 5 students have begun their election campaign for the various leadership positions in 2024. Posters have been created by the nominees which promote themselves and these are displayed in the undercover area. Next week Year 4, 5 and 6 students will have the opportunity to hear speeches from the nominees and then cast their votes for school captains, faction captains and, for choir member, choir captains. Our 2024 Shcool Student Leaders will be announced at the assembly on Tuesday 5 December at 2:15 pm.
Thank you to Mrs Cobbledick, Mr Easther and Mr Brooke for their work in Student Leadership.

Last Wednesday the Year 6 Captains visited Parliament House after being invited by Emily Hamilton MP. This visit gave the Captains the opportunity to meet and enjoy lunch with their local member for Joondalup and tour Parliament House. The Captains asked some fantastic questions over lunch and they all behaved impeccably, making the school very proud.
The start of the term has seen a strong focus on fundamental movement skills (FMS) in the lower primary years (PP-2). Students are enjoying narrative/role-playing based games, that incorporate FMS. Basketball skills and mini games have been done throughout Years 3-5. The improvement from the students in their bouncing and shooting ability has been pleasing to watch.
Certain Year 6’s who have been selected to represent the students verse the teachers in a game of basketball at lunch time on 17 November. The Year 6 students are very confident and have talked a big game! It should be a fun!

Here’s a snapshot of some of the work this term in Visual Art. It has been a productive and creative few weeks, filled with exploration of new art techniques and materials. Our Year 2 and 3 students have been particularly focused on printmaking techniques using Gelli plates. They have been experimenting with this medium and have successfully created charming elves and reindeer. These artworks will be showcased as the stage backdrop for the upcoming Christmas Carol night. We are confident that their efforts will add a touch of magic to the event.
In addition to the backdrop, our Year 4 students have been busy designing Lanterns. These Lanterns will serve as beautiful decorations, illuminating the night and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The students are thrilled to share their creativity with you and cannot wait to showcase their work on this special night.
