Welcome to 2023 from the Principal
Dear families
Welcome to a new school year. I hope that you have enjoyed a relaxing holiday and your children are ready for 2023.
I would like to extend a special welcome to new families who have joined Joondalup Primary School late last year and during the holidays. I hope that you have a wonderful time being part of this school community.
During our first two school development days we have been working through keys actions related to the business plan, honed our use of Office 365 and how we might use this platform in the classroom, looked at the school’s resources for Talk for Writing and Sounds Write, and worked in year group teams to set up classes for the year. Some staff have also undertaken specific training in diabetes so that we are better able to support and care for our children.
Class lists will be posted in the undercover area today at 2.30pm. You are welcome to come to school, have an icy pole and meet your children’s teachers.
The first day of school for students is tomorrow Wednesday 1 February 2023 and classroom doors will open at 8.35am. Please bring your child’s booklist items to the class and the teachers and education assistants will tell you where things need to be placed.
You are invited to a smoking ceremony on the oval, near the yarning circle, being held on Monday 6 February 2023 to welcome in the new school year. All families and friends are invited to be part of the ceremony. It will take place at 9:00am. I look forward to seeing you there.
Kind regards
Carol Selley
