Dear families

Welcome back to a new school term. Everyone has returned refreshed after their holiday and settled back into the school routine. 

Getting out of bed on cold mornings is a bit tough going for some! Many of us are layering up to keep warm. Please make sure that jumpers are labelled with your child’s name so we can return them. 

I am very pleased to be back at school and have enjoyed catching up on news and school activities. I would like to thank Miss Tammy Hanrahan and Mrs Stacey Young who stepped into new roles. Miss Hanrahan did a wonderful job of leading the school for the past six weeks and Mrs Young made a huge contribution to keep a range of school operations moving forward. Mrs Young used some of the time to continue to support the school in our bid to improve our ICT. Joondalup Primary School is in a very fortunate position where we have ready-made school leaders who are highly capable of stepping up.

Staff News

I would like to welcome Mrs Alana Coutts to the school.  Mrs Coutts will be working in Year 4 class on Fridays whilst Mrs Lahti is taking long service leave.  

Newsletter day change

We are changing the day of newsletters to Tuesdays. The next newsletter will be sent on Tuesday 10 August 2021 and fortnightly thereafter. 

P&C Day

Today is P&C Day WA! Thank you to everyone who is, and has been, part of the schools’ P&C. We appreciate the willingness of the P&C members to give of their time and efforts to make a significant difference to the resources and opportunities available to our students. The impact of the P&C is wide ranging at Joondalup Schools. The group has kept the canteen open, raised funds for the Nature Play area, organised great fundraisers including the Colour Run and disco, arranged Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls, and made a generous donation to keep the cost of Year 6 camps low.

Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do.

School photos

Next Tuesday 27 July and Thursday 29 July 2021 Kapture will be taking school photos.  The schedule for the two days is attached.  

Sibling photos are being done both Tuesday and Thursday at 8.00am.  These photos are being taken in the Science room.  Sibling photos are split into two groups:

• Tuesday 27 April 2021 - Family name A-K
• Thursday 29 April 2021 - Family name L-Z

Information about how to order photos online was sent home last term.

Faction Athletics Carnival

Term 3 is Faction Athletics Carnival and planning is underway.  Classes have begun training and today’s focus for Year 6 was passball.  Please mark the week of 13 September 2021 as Faction Carnival Week with the main event on Friday 17 September 2021.
